Linthorpe Publishing is run by highly committed, strong willed characters in Alastair Brownlee and Gordon Cox.
Alastair Brownlee

Alastair Brownlee, one half of the award winning commentary team who won the Gold Award at the New York Radio Festival for Best Sports Coverage 2006.
Alastair began commentating on Middlesbrough matches for BBC Radio Cleveland as it was known in 1982. His first commentary game was an away fixture at Hillsborough, August 28th 1982 when Middlesbrough lost 3-1 to Sheffield Wednesday.
In 1995 he began providing coverage of Middlesbrough matches on Century FM; the beginning of the Riverside Revolution. At the start of the 2008/2009 season Alastair returned to the airwaves for BBC Tees alongside Gary Gill and Mark Drury.
Gordon Cox

Gordon Cox began following the Boro as a spectator during the emergence of the Ayresome Angels, with his first match being the historic 4-1 victory over Oxford United which ensured promotion in 1967. Gordon swapped the terraces for the press box in 1986, moving on to share commentary duties with Alastair for Radio Cleveland.
Following Alastair’s move to Century FM in 1995, Gordon went on to become a freelance writer and broadcaster, while in 2006 he was part of FIFA’s website team for coverage of the World Cup in Germany.
Gordon is currently the chief reporter for Middlesbrough Football Club’s official website as he continues to embrace his footballing passion through the media.
